Project HEARTH

Fall 2023

Final project developed for Junior Design

The Idea

For the Final Design Project in Junior Design, I created what I am calling Project HEARTH (The Home Environment Automation for Renters/Tenants Hub). This system of devices enables the user to control lighting wirelessly from anywhere in the home, in a renter-friendly, damage-free way. See the slides below for my design:

Key Takeaways

  1. Utilizing ESP32 micocontrollers to interact over WiFi

  2. I2C communication for display control

  3. Servo motor control

  4. Time management

Future Plans

  1. Implement live camera feed using ESP-CAM

  2. Build out web app interface

  3. Add 3D-print monitoring

  4. Open Source designs
